Arson LOves YOu MOre

One of the most underrated metals band of all time is SLEEP (some would classify them as stoner rock, but they would be incorrect) Sleep dropped it’s second album Holy Mountain in 1992 and it is considered a seminal album in the evolution of stoner metal. The release Holy Mountain even got them a major label deal with London Records. Their major label dubut was supposed to be Dopesmoker in 1995 but when the band turned it in to the label, the recording consisted of a single song that was over 1 hour long. Aftert the label refused to release it, the band went back and trimmed it down to a “lean” 55 minutes and re-named it Jerusalem. Again the label rufused to release it becuse it was deemed um-marketable and SLEEP broke up shortly after. Both Dopesmoker and Jerusalem have been released by other lables since then and are worth hunting around for (not really that hard to find online)
